Growing Information:

• Plant Type: Half-hardy annual, often grown as an annual.   
• Sowing: Sow indoors from late winter. In mild climates, direct after the last frost.
• Sowing Depth: Surface sow, as light is required for germination. Gently press seeds into moist soil, do not cover.   
• Germination: Typically takes 10-21 days at temperatures between 20-30°C (68-86°F). Keep soil consistently moist.
• Position: Prefers full sun but can tolerate light shade.   
• Soil: Moderately rich, well-drained soil.
• Spacing: Space plants approximately 20-30cm (8-12 inches) apart.
• Height: 60-90cm (24-35 inches).
• Spread: 30-40cm (12-16 inches).
• Watering: Water regularly, keeping the soil moist, especially during dry periods. Avoid overhead watering to prevent leaf diseases.   
• Feeding: Feed lightly with a balanced liquid fertilizer a few weeks after transplanting and again mid-season to encourage continuous blooming.
• Pinching: Pinch back young plants to encourage bushier growth and more flower spikes.   
• Deadheading: Regularly remove spent flower spikes to promote further blooming.   
• Hardiness: Cold tolerant to approximately -8°C (18°F).
