Why Choose Our Seed Garlic?

  • 100% Organic & Spray-Free: Grown with care for your health and the soil.
  • Hand-Graded: We separate and grade every bulb. You only receive premium, large cloves ready for planting.
  • High Yield: Each single clove planted grows into one full, delicious bulb.
  • Acclimatized: Proven to thrive in Australian conditions.

Available Varieties

🧄 Lokalen (Silverskin Group)

  • Award Winner: Silver Medal, Australian Food Awards 2019.
  • Flavor Profile: A perfect balance of spicy, savoury, and sweet with a "sizzling zing" of heat.
  • Appearance: Beautiful satin-white skins with deep pink cloves.
  • Best For: Dehydrating or long-term storage (lasts up to 12 months!).

🧄 Tassie Purple (Heirloom)

  • Flavor Profile: Famous for a mild, sweet, and faintly hot flavor. Becomes rich and nutty when roasted.
  • Appearance: Large, striking purple cloves.
  • Growth: Highly adaptable to Australian climates; an heirloom classic.

🧄 Elephant Garlic (Gourmet Leek)

  • Flavor Profile: Much milder than regular garlic; ideal for roasting whole. Sweet and nutty.
  • Size: Produces massive, easy-to-peel bulbs (3–5 cloves per bulb).
  • Fact: Technically a member of the leek family, growing on impressive 1.2m tall plants.

🧄 Yabroudi (Middle Eastern Heirloom)

  • Flavor Profile: Mild and versatile for everyday cooking.
  • Size: Known for producing large bulbs with fewer, more substantial cloves.

Planting & Growing Guide

When to Plant

  • Warmer Climates (QLD/Northern NSW): March to early April.
  • Cooler Climates (VIC/TAS/Southern States): Autumn or early Spring.

Quick Tips for Success

  1. Preparation: Separate bulbs into cloves just before planting. Do not peel the individual cloves.
  2. Position: Choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Enrich with compost or aged manure.
  3. Spacing: Plant 10cm apart with the pointy end up (root end down), just below the soil surface.
  4. Mulching: We highly recommend Lucerne mulch to suppress weeds and provide nutrients.
  5. Watering: Keep moist during bulb formation. Stop watering once the leaves begin to turn brown.

Companion Planting

  • Likes: Beetroot, Carrots, Tomatoes, Kale, and Roses (helps repel aphids and borers).
  • Dislikes: Beans, Peas, Asparagus, and Parsley.

Pricing & Ordering

Prices are per CLOVE (unless "Bulb" is specified in the selection).

  • Pro Tip: To ensure a decent harvest for a home kitchen, we recommend starting with at least 10–20 cloves.

Stop buying supermarket garlic! Most store-bought garlic is imported, irradiated to prevent sprouting, and may carry viruses. Grow your own fresh, chemical-free garlic instead.
